MCM 250 Centrifugal Pump with a Wear Pad-What is a wear pad? And where it is?

The 250Series pump is designed to give longer service life through a wear pad replacement casing.

The MCM Equivanlent pumps (or MISSION 2500 Supreme series)housing comes with replaceable wear pads in sizes from 3X4X13 inches thru 8x10x14 inches. This feature reduces the maintenance cost of housing replacement by merely replacing the wear pads.

What does a wear pad look like?

In some designs of the Centrifugal pumps, there are no wear pads, see below drawing.

Where is a wear pad in the Centrifugal pump? See the drawing in the red circle.

In MCM part number list, the wear pad has a P/N of P25CWPXXX, we could do centrifugal pumps with or without the wear pads.
