Reasons why single-stage centrifugal pumps cannot pump water

Although single-stage centrifugal pumps have a certain self-priming ability, they must be fully sealed and leak-free during the installation of the inlet pipe.

The reason why the centrifugal pump cannot pump water may be that the user has not installed and used it correctly. The correct installation and use method is that a bottom valve must be installed at the bottom of the pool for the centrifugal pump suction pipe. Before starting, the entire pump body and the water inlet pipe need to be filled with water. Before starting, the outlet valve needs to be closed. After starting the centrifugal pump, slowly open the outlet valve. The self-priming performance of each single-stage centrifugal pump varies according to the model. When selecting, it is necessary to understand the cavitation margin of each single-stage centrifugal pump model to know the effective self-priming height of the centrifugal pump.

The reason why the single-stage centrifugal pump cannot pump water may also be that the self-priming height exceeds the effective self-priming height of the centrifugal pump. The self-priming height of conventional single-stage centrifugal pumps is within 3 meters. If it exceeds this height, it should be replaced with a self-priming centrifugal pump or a high-suction self-priming pump with vacuum assistance.

The reason why the single-stage centrifugal pump in use cannot pump water may also be due to the blockage of debris in the pump chamber, impeller, bottom valve, pipeline, etc.

If the seal of the single-stage centrifugal pump leaks, it will also cause the centrifugal pump to fail to pump water.

Another reason why the newly installed centrifugal pump cannot pump water may be that the motor is not in the right direction. If the direction is wrong, you need to turn off the power and stop the machine, then replace any two power cords.

The following are the commonly used single-stage centrifugal pumps:

1. ISW horizontal centrifugal pump

2. ISG vertical single-stage centrifugal pump

3. IS single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump
