Packing, also known as sealing filler, is usually woven from softer threads, and is filled in the sealing cavity through strips with a square cross-sectional area to achieve sealing.
Types of packing include aramid packing, graphite packing, four-packing, high water-based packing, carbon fiber packing, aramid carbon fiber packing, aramid four-packing, ramie packing, butter packing, asbestos packing, ceramic packing, oil-immersed packing, rubber packing, etc.
Asbestos packing is woven from asbestos wire with heat-resistant lubricating oil and graphite, and is suitable for use as a sealing material on rotating shafts, plugs or valve stems. The medium is steam, air, industrial water, and heavy petroleum products. Asbestos packing with lead powder and oil-immersed steel wire (or nickel wire, stainless steel wire) can be produced according to working conditions. Graphite packing is a flexible and braided packing woven from graphite wire reinforced with stainless steel wire. The excellent sealing performance achieved by combining with other packings makes it a very good sealing material, especially under high pressure. Except for a few strong oxidants, it can be used to seal hot water, high-temperature and high-pressure steam, heat transfer fluids, hydrogen gas, ammonia, solvents, hydrocarbons, cryogenic liquids and other media. It is also a unique universal sealing packing. It mainly uses easily abrasive media containing solid particles. It is recommended for superheated steam, solvents, liquefied gas, syrup and other easily abrasive fluids.
Braided packing has excellent lubricity and wear resistance. Its performance is high wear and good chemical resistance, high rebound, low cold flow and easy to disassemble and assemble quickly. It is especially suitable for dynamic sealing parts containing solid particle media.
High water-based packing is made of high-quality ramie fiber, fully impregnated with special lubricating oil and woven in a square shape. The outstanding advantages are low friction coefficient, no shaft grinding, and corrosion resistance. It can be used in the shipbuilding industry, cold water treatment, seawater and cold oil; low-pressure valves, rotating equipment, and reciprocating pump hydraulic presses, ship propellers and other equipment. It is suitable for various water, seawater, salt water, oil, fat, weak acid, weak alkali and other media, and is especially resistant to abrasion. (This packing is divided into black and white according to color).
