Summary of Centrifugal Pump Maintenance

Minor repair items:

1 Replace packing seals.

2 Double-bearing pumps check and clean bearings, bearing boxes, oil retaining rings, water retaining rings, oil marks, etc., and adjust bearing clearance.

3 Check and repair couplings and the alignment of the driver and pump.

4 Deal with general defects that occur during operation.

5 Check and clean cooling water, oil seals, lubrication systems, etc.

Overhaul items:

1 Includes minor repair items.

2 Check and repair mechanical seals.

3 Disassemble and check the wear, corrosion and erosion of each component. If necessary, perform non-destructive testing on the pump shaft and impeller.

4 Check and clean bearings, oil seals, etc., and measure and adjust the bearing oil seal clearance.

5 Check and measure the circular runout and clearance of each part of the rotor, and perform dynamic balancing inspection if necessary.

6 Check and correct the straightness of the shaft.

7 Measure and adjust the axial runout of the rotor.

8 Check the misalignment of the pump body, foundation, anchor bolts and inlet and outlet flanges to prevent additional stress from being applied to the pump body, and re-pipe if necessary.

When disassembling and overhauling a centrifugal pump, the three stages of disassembly, overhaul and reinstallation need to be carried out in accordance with the requirements and steps.
