MISSION Supreme Shear Impeller
The Supreme Shear Impeller incorporates a unique design that has the leading vane surface mechanically altered by a tungsten carbide coating. This surface feature creates a highly wear-resistant surface and imparts a mechanical shearing action to drilled solids due to the non-uniform surface texture. In addition to the mechanical shearing, this Impeller Imparts a liquid shearing action when utilized at the proper operating parameters as outlined below.
The Supreme Shear Impeller can be installed on a 6x5x14 250 Supreme pump with an 11 in. impeller operating at 1750 rpm. Operating under these conditions results in maximum shearing efficiency when the flow is restricted to 600 gpm. Fluid weight should be maintained between 11 to 13 ppg. A fluid weight below 11 ppg reduces the effectiveness of the liquid shear, and fluid weights above 13 ppg can become too viscous to pump as desired in fluids containing clays.
